Join THE COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE in Massachusetts on Wed 2/17 for a Virtual Discussion on the much loved later 90s teen fave / Shakespeare inspired 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, moderated by journalist and best-selling author Anita Diamant, and featuring author / playwright Tina Packer, Founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare and Company and author and feminist film critic Molly Haskell. At Brooklyn, NY’s SYNDICATED Sidewalk Cinema it’s a week of Hitchcock greats including THE BIRDS, REBECCA, NOTORIOUS, NORTH BY NORTHWEST, VERTIGO and DIAL M FOR MURDER running Tues 2/16 through Sun 2/21. More info HERE.

Aaron Sorkin takes up virtual residence with NYC’s METROGRAPH to present online screenings of MONEYBALL (2011) + THE HOT ROCK (1972) on Wed 2/17, MOLLY’S GAME (2017) + DOWNHILL RACER (1969) on Thurs 2/18 and THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 (2020) + INHERIT THE WIND (1960) on Fri 2/19. Over at FILM AT LINCOLN CENTER in NYC catch a New 2K Restoration by Janus Films of DEMONLOVER (2002), a radical, thought-provoking cyber-thriller depicts the international aristocracies of capitalism in the early 2000s and their amoral double agents, starring Connie Nielsen, Gina Gershon and Chloë Sevigny with score by Sonic Youth. At THE HEIGHTS THEATRE Minnesota , which opened in 1926, catch classics on the big screen like the whimsical EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990) on Tues 2/16 and the film noir classic THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI (1947) starring Rita Hayworth and Orson Welles, screening in 35mm on Thurs 2/22. More info HERE.

At the BELAIRE DINER DRIVE IN in Queens NY you can have your faith in humanity restored via the irrepressible IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946) on Thurs 2/18. And to celebrate Black History Month, catch FENCES (2016) and THE BUTLER (2013) both on Sat 2/20. More info HERE.

Over at THE ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE catch the severely underrated JOSIE & THE PUSSYCATS (2001), which became a cult film that is a biting satire of American pop culture. Screening Fr 2/19, Sat 2/20 & Sun 2/21. More info HERE for locations.

Also at THE ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE is the first of the modern Marvel movies long before the studio sold out to Disney, and often forgotten as the first super successful black superhero on the big screen. Catch BLADE (1998) at Alamo Charlottesville and Austin locations on Sat 2/20. More info HERE.

Melbourne’s ACMI will (hopefully) reemerge from the city’s snap lockdown to continue its LOVE & NEON: THE CINEMA OF WONG KAR-WAI lineup. All movies will be presented on the big screen via New 4K Restorations. Currently scheduled to recommence from Thurs 2/18. More info HERE.

Over at THE ASTOR THEATRE in Melbourne, Australia (and pending the city’s reopening) will present the STAR WARS TRILOGY MARATHON in rare 35mm format! All three installments of the original series run back to back on Sun 2/21. More info HERE.

The AFI SILVER in Maryland, which usually has a rotation of classics and indie films on their big screen is currently sporting quite possibly the largest selection of Virtual Screenings anywhere with almost 50 titles. From Wong Kar-Wai classics to the much anticipated MINARI please support them by streaming from them if it’s your local! More info HERE.

Many cinemas are doing Private Rentals, and should you be a film fan in the Seattle Area, perhaps consider doing so at THE GRAND ILLUSION CINEMA, the city’s oldest film house. Equipped for 16mm, 35mm and Digital it’a an amazing spot to host your own private film night. More info HERE.

Portland’s finest film watching establishments are THE HOLLYWOOD THEATRE and it’s sister video store MOVIE MADNESS (a true marvel to visit).
