ON THE SHELF 1990: THIS MONTH IN VHS RELEASES

It’s Friday night, school’s out, your homework is all done, it’s time to hit the video store with your best friends to grab a bunch of New Releases for a pizza and soda infused sleep over!

So what we’re people flocking to the video store to rent? Obviously it’s tricky to track down the more obscure direct-to-video B-movie releases, however, here’s the New Release schedule if you we’re hitting the local rental store in JUNE 1990!

MY LEFT FOOT (Palace): True life drama and Oscar winner starring Daniel Day Lewis

TANGO & CASH (Warner Bros): Cult favorite macho action extravaganza starring Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell

JUNE 14TH:

ALWAYS (Universal): Steven Spielberg directs Richard Dreyfuss, John Goodman and Holly Hunter

THE WIZARD (Universal): Cheesy road movie that served as a two hour Nintendo commercial starring Fred Savage, Beau Bridges and Christian Slater

JUNE 20TH

STEEL MAGNOLIAS (Tri Star): Drama / Comedy with a legendary ensemble cast including Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah and Olympia Dukakis.

JUNE 21ST:

MUSIC BOX (Tri Star): Thriller starring Jessica Lange

JUNE 27TH:

GROSS ANATOMY (Touchstone): Comedy starring Matthew Modine and Daphne Zuniga (the Princess in Spaceballs)

JUNE 28TH

SHE-DEVIL (Orion): Wicked comedy of infidelity starring Rosanne Barr and Meryl Streep

THE WAR OF THE ROSES (20th Century Fox): Super cast of Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny Devito in the marriage story from hell.

WE’RE NO ANGELS (Paramount): Neil Jordan directs Sean Penn and Robert De Niro in the remake of the 1955 comedy.
