WEEKEND UPDATE: NOIR CITY BOSTON RETURNS, SPIDER-MAN MARATHON, CRONENBERG CLASSICS, JOHN WATERS AND MORE

A festival of rare film noir classics kicks off another weekend of classic and cult fave deep cuts, a super sized Spider-man marathon, 50th Anniversary of John Waters’ filthy classic and a slew of other fabulous film classics on the big screen this weekend.

All Weekend: Returning this weekend to The Brattle Theatre, Massachusetts is NOIR CITY BOSTON in conjunction with Film Noir Foundation. Fri 6/10 Midnight: After undergoing radical emergency surgery, Rose develops an insatiable desire for blood. She searches out victims to satisfy her incurable craving, infecting them with an unknown disease which in turn swiftly drives them insane…and makes them equally bloodthirsty! The notorious and legendary adult comedy was one of the first mainstream movies to feature hardcore sex, was tangled up in prosecution at local and federal levels for obscenity and remains one of the most profitable movies ever made (reportedly $600 million of a $25,000 budget).
