SYNDICATED THEATER OPENS IN BROOKLYN (NY)
The Nitehawk Theater made a great case for fusion of dining, drinking and watching a vibrtant mix of repertory, especially amongst the demographic of film lovers in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that it wouldn't be long until a new venture using the familiar fusion to open in the neighboring Bushwick area.
Tim Chung, worked in the New York's local film industry as a film location scout, before his lifelong passion for film spurned him on to the create the new theater. Syndicated seems to make a point reasonably priced Double Features and single presentations, the programming mirrors something akin to what a film nerd running a video store would stock the top shelf of their recommended section with.
But rather than just trade off the eclectic programming, Syndicated is all about the food and drink. A spacious bar and restaurant populates the rest of the space serving gourmet popcorn, dishes like sandwiches and burgers, while larger plates include slow-cooked lamb ribs with harissa glaze and Steak Frites. Pekish during the movie? No worries. Discreet service will be brought to your seat.
As well as classics on rotation like The Day The Earth Stood Still, Harold & Maude and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Syndicated will show awards shows, and even the new X Files series every Monday. Intelligent programming and a delicious menu.
